• PA Department of Health Mandated Screenings

    The Pennsylvania Public School Code requires certain school health services for all children of school age. Hearing, Vision, Height and Weight will be performed at the school. Physical and Dental Exams will be offered at school as well, however, the Department of Health encourages students to get these exams done by their family providers as they know the students’ health history. Below is a schedule of the required screenings.

    Pa Department of Health Mandate for Physical Exams:
    Grade KG or Upon Entry into School – Physical Exam with completed immunizations
    Grade 6 – Physical exam with scoliosis screening and completed immunizations for entrance into 7th grade
    Grade 11 – Physical exam with completed immunizations for entrance into 12th grade

    Pa Department of Health Mandate for Dental Exams:
    Grades KG, 3, and 7 or upon entry into school

    Scoliosis Screenings:
    Grades 6 and 7

    Vision, Height and Weight Screenings:
    All grades yearly

    Hearing Screenings:
    KG, 1,2,3,7,11 or upon entry into school and special ungraded classes
